LAGOS, Dec 24 (AGCNewsNet) – Nigerian author and public affairs commentator Reno Omokri has been ranked the 21st most talked-about person in Africa for 2024, according to data released by Top Charts Africa. The ranking is based on Google algorithms that track public interest and online mentions.
Omokri, known for his vocal advocacy for Nigeria and its culture, expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a testament to the power of positivity.
“To God be the glory, I was named the 21st most talked about person in Africa for 2024 by Top Charts Africa, using Google algorithms,” Omokri stated. “This proves you do not have to de-market your country to be relevant. You can command respect and win the ears of the public and the media by projecting positive things about your country.”
Omokri’s achievement has been widely celebrated by Nigerians, including prominent public figures. Information Minister Mohammed Idris praised Omokri’s contributions to promoting Nigerian culture and peaceful coexistence. “This recognition affirms his very vocal and patriotic promotion of Nigerian culture and peaceful religious and ethnic coexistence in Africa,” Idris said.
Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode lauded Omokri’s resilience and commitment. “Through thick and thin, you have stood for your beliefs and have defended our beloved nation. This is a well-earned and well-deserved accolade,” he said.
Former presidential spokesman Doyin Okupe described Omokri as a “global ambassador for brand Nigeria.” Media entrepreneur Senator Ben Murray-Bruce added that Omokri’s influence stems from his positive approach to advocacy.
“At number 21 on the index, you have shown that speaking positively about your country can take you further and give you more influence than using your platform to magnify the negative,” Murray-Bruce stated.
Omokri, a former presidential aide and outspoken social media personality, reiterated his commitment to promoting Nigeria and uplifting humanity. “As long as I live, I promise to use my lifetime to glorify God and uplift humanity by being the best advocate for Nigeria and her people. So help me, God,” he affirmed.
The recognition comes as Omokri continues his advocacy for unity, development, and a positive global image for Nigeria.
