WASHINGTON, Jan 6 (AGCNewsNet) – Nigerian gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has been invited to minister at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, 2025. The event will take place at the Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom in Washington, D.C.
The prayer breakfast, held every four years before the inauguration of a new administration, is a faith-based gathering focused on intercessory prayers and worship for the U.S. government and presidency. Reverend Merrie Turner will host this year’s event, which will feature notable speakers including Dr. Alveda King and Pastor Mario Bramnick.
Nathaniel Bassey, popularly known as Nathaniel Blow, announced his participation on Instagram, sharing a poster of the event and writing, “Let’s raise a sound in America. And let the King of Glory come in. See you, 20th January, 2025.”
Known for his global Christian worship movement, the Hallelujah Challenge, Bassey has inspired millions with his hit songs such as “Imela,” “Onise Iyanu,” and “Olowogbogboro.” His music ministry has made a significant impact worldwide, positioning him as a fitting choice for this occasion.
While the prayer breakfast is not an official government event, it serves as a platform for spiritual support and unity, bringing leaders, dignitaries, and worshippers together to pray ahead of the new administration’s swearing-in ceremony.
