HARARE, Jan 22 (AGCNewsNet) – Starlink has rolled out an installment payment plan for its Mini Kit, making its satellite internet service more affordable and accessible to Zimbabweans. The new payment structure is available in two options:
· 6-month plan: $25 per month
· 9-month plan: $16.67 per month
Both plans require an initial deposit of $50 and a $23 delivery fee, lowering the upfront cost from $223 to $73. Starlink is not charging interest on the installment payments, which makes the 9-month option particularly appealing to many customers.
After receiving the kit, customers will pay a monthly subscription fee of at least $30 in addition to their installment. For instance, selecting the 9-month plan would result in a total monthly payment of $46.67 ($16.67 for the installment and $30 for the subscription).
While Starlink's service is sold out in some areas like Harare and parts of Bulawayo, it remains available in other regions of Zimbabwe.
To place an order, customers should visit the Starlink website, fill out the order form, and choose their preferred payment method. Accepted options include prepaid Mastercards, EcoCash virtual Mastercards, and international credit cards from relatives abroad. The initial payment required is $73, with a recommended buffer of $90 to cover potential bank charges.
This new installment plan is seen as a significant step in expanding Starlink’s reach across Zimbabwe, especially to customers in rural and underserved regions.
