PARIS, Feb 14 (AGCNewsNet) – Billboard France has officially launched, featuring Nigerian superstar Burna Boy as its first-ever cover star.
In an exclusive interview, Burna Boy discusses his upcoming Stade de France concert, his influence on the global music scene, and the rise of Afrobeats.
Set to headline the 80,000-capacity stadium on April 18, 2025, Burna Boy sees this as more than a personal milestone. “This isn’t just a win for me. It’s a win for a continent, for a culture, for a people whose stories deserve to be heard on the world’s biggest stages,” he says.
Known for his fusion of Afrobeats, reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop, Burna Boy stresses the importance of staying true to his roots while evolving creatively. “When your music is honest, people feel it, no matter where they’re from,” he explains. He also praises French musicians like Stromae, M. Pokora, and Aya Nakamura, calling their music rich and deeply creative.
Looking ahead, Burna Boy teases a possible new album, “No Sign of Weakness,” which he describes as both introspective and outward-looking. Beyond music, he remains dedicated to philanthropy, supporting initiatives like R.E.A.C.H., which aids underprivileged communities in Nigeria.
With his Stade de France concert on the horizon, Burna Boy’s influence continues to expand, solidifying his status as a leading force in Afrobeats and global music.
