CAIRO, Feb 19 (AGCNewsNet) – A unique café in the Egyptian capital is giving dog owners a much-needed space to relax and socialize with their furry companions. Simply named The Dog Cafe, it is one of the few pet-friendly establishments in Cairo, where finding places that welcome animals can be a challenge.
Founded in 2022 by Ola Lofty and Hossam Hassan, The Dog Cafe aims to build a community for pet lovers while providing a safe environment for their dogs. "We have non-porous floors to prevent the spread of diseases and bad odors. In every corner, there's a designated space to tie your dog," Lofty explained.
Over the weekend, the café hosted a winter bazaar featuring pet-focused products that prioritize health and well-being. Business owner Iman Fathallah, who participated in the event, praised the initiative. "A dog is not just an animal in my house that I feed. This place helps build a community where dogs can socialize and avoid separation anxiety," she said.
For many pet owners like Adham Hisham, the café is a welcome solution to an ongoing struggle. "I was often told my dog, Bimbo, wasn’t allowed inside places. Now, I have somewhere he can play and socialize. It’s a great idea, and I hope it spreads," he said.
As one of Cairo’s first pet-friendly cafés, The Dog Cafe has quickly become a safe haven for dog lovers seeking to enjoy outings with their pets without restrictions.
