RABAT, Feb 26 (AGCNewsNet) – A Ghanaian citizen and his Nigerian girlfriend were found dead inside an apartment in Morocco, with authorities launching investigations into the mysterious deaths.

The deceased have been identified as Kassim Awudu from Ghana and his Nigerian girlfriend, whose name has not yet been released. Friends reportedly became concerned after failing to reach Awudu for several days and later visited his residence with the assistance of the landlord.

The apartment door was forced open, and the couple was discovered lifeless inside. The cause of death remains unknown as forensic investigations continue. Authorities have not confirmed whether foul play was involved.

According to eyewitness reports, news of the discovery spread quickly, causing some residents in the apartment complex to flee, reportedly due to concerns over immigration documentation issues and possible police investigations.

A local resident interviewed by media said the couple may have been dead for approximately three days before being discovered. Officials in Morocco have not yet issued an official statement regarding the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The tragic discovery has prompted efforts to trace and notify the families of the deceased in both Ghana and Nigeria, with community members calling for swift investigations to determine the cause of death.

The incident follows growing concerns among African diaspora communities about safety and welfare abroad, with families urging authorities to improve consular monitoring of citizens living overseas.
