SPRINGS, South Africa — Police in South Africa are investigating the discovery of another woman’s body in Kwa-Thema, Springs, bringing to six the number of female bodies found across the Ekurhuleni municipal area in the past two months.
The latest discovery comes just a day after another woman’s body was found in Olifantsfontein, near Kempton Park, further raising concerns over the growing number of cases involving women in the area.
Police have yet to establish whether the deaths are connected, while investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding each discovery.
Two of the women found in the Kempton Park area remain unidentified, according to police. Their bodies were reportedly discovered with little clothing and visible bruising.
One of the deceased has been identified as Elizabeth Moselakgomo, a runner who was reported missing in the area last week. Her death has added to concerns over the safety of women in communities across Ekurhuleni.
Authorities are continuing efforts to identify the remaining victims and determine how they died. Police have not publicly confirmed a common suspect or motive linking the cases.
The latest discovery is expected to intensify calls for a thorough investigation as authorities work to establish whether the incidents are isolated cases or part of a wider pattern.
