Chidimma Adetshina Crowned First Runner-Up at Miss Universe 2024, Nigerians Celebrate

MEXICO CITY, Nov. 17 (AGCNewsNet) – Nigerians and admirers worldwide are celebrating Chidimma Adetshina, Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, after she emerged as the first runner-up in the prestigious Miss Universe pageant held early Sunday morning at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. 

In a thrilling finale, Adetshina stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, in the race for the crown. Although Theilvig claimed the top prize, Adetshina’s poise, intelligence, and charisma left a lasting impression, earning her admiration across the globe. 

Adetshina’s achievement has ignited a wave of national pride and social media tributes. Prominent Nigerians, including Ben Murray-Bruce, took to X (formerly Twitter) to commend her. 

“Congratulations to Chidimma Adetshina, our Miss Universe Nigeria, for emerging as the 1st Runner-Up at Miss Universe 2024. You have made us all proud. You’re a star!” wrote Murray-Bruce. 

Activist Rinu Oduala highlighted the inspiration Adetshina represents, adding, “You are an inspiration to every girl child out there.” 

Social media users echoed similar sentiments. “You are and will still be a queen regardless,” tweeted @blakboii2, while @OmegaXDreams praised her powerful speech during the pageant. 

Adetshina’s path to the Miss Universe stage has been marked by resilience. A once-rejected contestant in South Africa, she found her platform through Nigeria, turning her story into a testament to perseverance. 

“The rejected stone has become the cornerstone! Chidimma Adetshina’s story is one that will be told for years to come,” wrote social media user Ovie. 

Adetshina’s success at Miss Universe 2024 has further cemented her as a symbol of national pride and an inspiration to many.
